Info

Splazsh is the second studio album by British electronic musician Actress. It was released on 8 June 2010 by Honest Jon's Records. Splazsh was ranked on numerous music critics' and publications' end-of-year albums lists, topping The Wire's 2010 Rewind, as well as being in the top five of Fact, Los Angeles Times critic Jeff Weiss and Resident Advisor. It was also put as an honorable mention on the lists of XLR8R and Pitchfork, which in 2014 listed the album number 91 on their 100 Best Albums of the. Sharper, sprawling, and more bent in comparison to 2008's Hazyville - Darren Cunningham's first Actress album - Splazsh is a brilliantly malformed collision of dubstep, IDM, garage, and experimental techno. Even if each one of these tracks didnt sound like it was coated in silt, there would be friction to spare. Lost is grounded in sub-bass tones that are washed out by fragile, disembodied vocal samples, streaks of agitated hi-hats, and a decaying twinkle of a keyboard vamp. The Best Color l PURPLE SPLASH by 2010 14 Songs. Purrple Splazsh. 3: is Actress third album and his most accessible. Cunningham goes straight for beats and moods and even though diverse, the album is strangely cohesive. It really sounds like an album, one piece of art. I have to admit I've come to love this one more than Ghettoville in the last year or so. Splazsh is just so much more melodic and somewhat upbeat. Ghettoville can feel a little claustrophobic at times. yeah, this album is alive. it's different and very inventive. all the songs are strong. if new to Actress I would get this one first. I think Actress is the best since Apex Twins pr. Покупайте и продавайте винил и компакт-диски, формируйте. Pretty timeless release. Way more tangible as a whole than R.I.P.

This probably has a little dubstep influence but not too much at all. Nine years later and this outsider-house / minimal-techno still bangs, one of my fav records so far. An oopart out of time.

CD and LP versions have slightly different track order. CD has "Always Human" before "Get Ohn" and the LP version has them in the opposite order. Not sure why, wouldn't affect the run time of the LP since they're both on the same side of vinyl anyway. Badass album in my book.

Personally, I think Bubbles Butts fits better to end disc 1. It might've been a decision to improve the cohesive quality of the album on vinyl. Who knows.

Wow! Like the best of the best e-albums, Splazsh is sui generis. And the production in my 256k AAC from i-T, is state of the art. Not to be missed.

style here says that it's a combination of "dubstep" and other stuff, but I would disagree. not much of a dubstep here... which for me is good, since I got bored of this style repetitiveness very easily. I've only listened to this record two times so far, but it sounds very "fresh" - many experiments with usage of bass. the wire made it no. 1 album in 2010 so it's worth listening for sure. so far I cannot say what score I would give it, but 4 or 5 star rating probably.
