The 1957 version of Bob Scobey's Frisco Band was most notable for the leader's trumpet and the vocals of banjoist Clancy Hayes. The band at the time had two trombones Jack Buck and Doug Skinner, clarinetist Pete Dovidio, and former Duke Ellington drummer Dave Black. Although the musicianship is excellent, the material on this long out of print LP is just average, the two medleys are uneventful, and Hayes' vocals do not sound as inspired as usual.
