What Would the Community Think is the third album by Cat Power, the stage name and eponymous band of American singer-songwriter Chan Marshall. Recorded at Easley Studios in Memphis, Tennessee, the album was released in 1996 on Matador Records, and was her first release on the label. The album was produced by Sonic Youth drummer Steve Shelley, who also provided drums during the recording sessions. What Would the Community Think has been noted for its variety of musical styles, ranging from alternative. Where her previous works were dense and cathartic, What Would the Community Think gives her voice and lyrics space to unfurl and involve the listener the title track alone holds an album's worth of eloquence in Marshall's hushed, clear vocals, backed by guitar, feedback, and an eerie, echoing piano. Power : What Would The Community Think ,альбом, рецезия, трек-лист, mp3, тексты песен. I love Cat Power, and Chan Marshall's singing stylesound. This album is great, has several laid back songs on the album which I enjoy from Cat Power. Shipping was fast, and the C. D quality was perfect and I ordered a used one I highly recommend this one, and Moon Pix-their first album I just got in the mail today that album is what turned me onto Cat Power. Their songs stick withme long after hearing them. An Icon group in the making for sure. 0 out of 5 stars What would the Community think Good stuff Reviewed in the United States on May 26, 2009. Cat Power is not known or her complexity, but her greatest strength lies in her lack of musicianship and even her near inability to play a guitar. Using a single guitar riff, Chan is able to construct an entire song, simply but effectively and never boring. A great example of her skills is shown in Community's lead single, Nude As the News, where the same progression plays throughout the song, but the phrasing of her lyrics and structure of the songs make for an interesting and powerful all the way through. Marshall's subject matter never disappoints either
