Murrow, of the documentary television program See It Now. He originated the concept of public-access television cable TV channels. Friendly was born to a Jewish family in New York City to Therese Friendly Wachenheimer and Samuel Wachenheimer, a jewelry manufacturer. The family moved from Manhattan's Morningside Heights district. Murrow's three-record I CAN HEAR IT NOW series are circa-1960 reissues of a set of COUMBIA LPs from a decade earlier. The first volume was originally a 1948 set of 12 blue label 78s. Pictured here is the second, newer LP label that these reissues appeared on. Earlier ones have the gray wsix eye label. From that assemblage, forty-five minutes of material were selected for this album. Naturally, with such a limited time frame and so many years to cover, much had to be left out.
