A Boy Named Charlie Brown - Vince Guaraldi Trio. Лента с персональными рекомендациями и музыкальными новинками, радио, подборки на любой вкус, удобное управление своей коллекцией. by Fantasy Records in December 1964. It is the soundtrack to the unreleased television documentary film entitled A Boy Named Charlie Brown. Originally titled Jazz Impressions of a Boy Named Charlie Brown, this is an important album not only because it is Guaraldi's first Peanuts soundtrack, but also because the music heard here probably introduced millions of kids and their parents to jazz from the mid-'60s onward. Vince Guaraldi Trio Jazz Impressions Of A Boy Named Charlie Brown. Genre: Jazz, Stage & Screen. I have a near mint 1964 vinyl pressing of this album and the sound quality seems superior to the CD reissues which sound a little murky and flat by comparison. The piano has a noticably brighter sound on the vinyl LP, without losing the dymaics of the bass tones. A Boy Named Charlie Brown is arguably the best work that Guaraldi ever did, and an extra recording of Fly Me To the Moon demonstrates why he never could have established his reputation solely as an interpreter of standards it lacks the punch of the previous material. While A Boy Named Charlie Brown lacks a truly brilliant song like Christmas Time Is Here, it nevertheless is a great album of piano jazz that proves when given a concept Guaraldi was a fine composer. The best improviser on the Peanuts specials may be the trombone player who does the voice of the teacher, b. By the time he recorded A Boy Named Charlie Brown - the album he is best known for - he had also released several recordings as a leader, including Jazz Impressions of Black Orpheus and Vince Guaraldi, Bola Sete & Friends. Here, heading up a trio that includes bassist Monty Budwig and drummer Colin Bailey, Guaraldi charms throughout. The pianist had an affinity for bossa nova: the breezy Pebble Beach might be named after a town in California but its laid back groove is clearly Brazilian. Schroeder appropriately displays a classical influence, linking it to Charlie Browns piano-playing. Schroeder Album Version. Vince Guaraldi Trio. MOZART in Bossa - . Vince Guaraldi. The commonly-available album by Fantasy Records, JAZZ IMPRESSIONS OF A BOY NAMED CHARLIE BROWN by the Vince Guaraldi Trio FCD-8430-2, is actually Vince's 1964 jazz impression album of his score for the unaired 1963 documentary called, coincidentally enough, A BOY NAMED CHARLIE BROWN portions of this album were also heard in the 1965 special, A CHARLIE BROWN. There are a couple of albums for the 1969 movie, but one is a long OOP story-record by Columbia Records with additional narration and dialogue by Peter Robbins and Glenn Gilger as Charlie Brown and Linus, respectively. The album was released in December 1964 in the U. by Fantasy. 1 Background. Although never aired on television, the 30-minute documentary was instrumental in garnering commercial support and the creative teamwork that resulted in A Charlie Brown Christmas in 1965 and Guaraldis accompanying soundtrack, which has been a perennial holiday favorite
