Info
The Grass Is Greener is an album by Colosseum, released in January 1970. In contrast to other albums by Colosseum, The Grass Is Greener was released only in the United States and Canada, on the Dunhill label, distributed by ABC. It was conceived as a North American alternative to November 1969's Valentyne Suite, complete with a muted, blue-green variation of the aforementioned album's cover. It features four tracks recorded with then-new guitaristvocalist Dave Clem Clempson in the winter of 1969. Written by Wayne Carson. Released July 1972 as a single. Not so country but not posted on the tube either so I feel it is my duty. Текст песни: Welcome to your name in lights All the lighters in the sky yeah You must be famous This is how you live your life, different city every night yeah. The Wayne Carsonpenned tune was the third hit from Stewart's excellent Out of Hand, and the record features both John Hughey playing tear-jerking pedal steel and a mournful chorus from Elvis-affiliated gospel quartet the Jordanaires. An unreconstructed Southern rocker when he wanted to be, Stewart's version of a self-pitying coward struck a chord with a jukebox crowd who sometimes, as Stewart sang elsewhere, got this drinkin' thing, to keep from thinkin' things. McClinton, Dont Let the Green Grass Fool You 1972. Written and recorded for Bobbie Gentry's 1969 album of the same name, Fancy tells a rags-to-riches tale of a young girl whose mother sends her into prostitution. Alex von Tunzelmann: Patriot John Wayne made a film about the Vietnam war and gave the Pentagon carte blanche to rewrite the plot. The result was a propaganda flick with dodgy Vietnamese accents. Текст песни: And theres a big concert going down in this town People cannot see society had broken down I sat upon the green grass but it just brought me down And the wife said 'get up' and it just brought me round
