late-stage capitalism is a helluva drug. I get what Daupe is trying to do but its just hurting the fans.

The initial Daupe’ hype is already wearing thin. People think they are going to cash in, but the novelty has worn off and prices are going down not up. Most Daupe’ Records put up for auction or for sale on sites such as Discogs just sit there and don’t sell , so the prices keep going lower and lower, plus they are pressing more copies now. When they first started they would press 100 to 150 , now they are up to 350 last I checked and records that once easily went for $100+ easily are now selling for $40-$50. The only ones holding their value are the obi and the early titles where they only pressed 100-150. Now it just seems like a quick cash grab. I think the Daupe’ money train will be coming to an end sooner rather than later. That being said, anybody want to unload their Westside DOOM obi hit me up.

FLYGOD's release would have to be a great example of how flawed and s--t tier Daupe's business model is. $350 at minimum for an album that only came out last year? If it became valuable over the years then sure, I'd understand the price hike, but right off the bat? Stupid. Not only that, but the fact that they only pressed 250 copies of what is clearly an album that has a solid following didn't make sense either. They could be making so much more money and still be able to press a decent amount of high quality records. I just don't get it. The OBI strip edition looks nice, but not $2000 nice.

hurting the fans? daupe and its policy is a pain in the ass, I still dont get it why so many vinyl lovers support these guys, neither do I understand the artists. people like doom sold 10.000s in their good years, nowadays they sellin a couple hundred and thinkin they are the shit?! haha, thats ridiculous, the only ones profiting are the damn resellers, proof can be found here.
